Little pro’s and con’s list (more pro’s to be honest) of why I personally prefer Airbnb over hotels.
I know, I know…hotels have better guarantees and you don’t need to clean your room before checking out (First Hotel Pro), but let’s be honest – hotels do not have souls and they are pretty impersonal and this is First Hotel Con. I like seeing true colors of people and places all the time, and also when I’m on vacation. I love doing not-touristy things when I travel and my vacation motto is “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”.
My very first Airbnb experience was in Paris. I was looking for an apartment that would have this French and especially Parisian character. After hours spent on the website looking for the combo of perfect location, boho artistic chic interior, nice view, and affordable price, lucky me — I found it.
So, let’s continue with a little mixture of Airbnb and Hotels pro’s and con’s.

Music is very intimate and opens the door to a person’s soul. Soooo….I decided to start sharing my personally created playlists with you.
Today I present to you my absolutely favorite Ultimate French Playlist. It’s a mixture of cliché and old-school French music, different decades and styles along with some new funky and jazzy songs. Also, you can even find some rap there too. Surprisingly enough it did not take me a long time to find the right songs and put them all together. Every single song that’s in there I truly love and enjoy listening to anytime of the day, week, month, and year. These songs are just like good French wine – they only get better and better over time.
I strongly recommend you to leave your living room window wide open on a sunny Sunday afternoon, pour yourself a glass of rosé and enjoy this playlist full of curiosities. Je vous en prie.

For all those dear fellows who just like me got themselves out of control and gained bunch of weight during holiday season…
I’m not a fan of diets and I never was. Also, I’m not a fan of killing myself at the gym. I strictly believe that being in good shape is easy. All you need to do is just eat healthy, right amount of food at the appropriate time and just don’t sit around the whole day. And you know what? I’m not the only one. About a year ago I came across this really good book “French Women Don’t Get Fat”.
French people are known for their love for food, they simply won’t refuse themselves in these divine pleasures like having a glass/bottle(s) of wine with cheese, baguettes, foie gras, etc. They are also known to have an absolutely opposite attitude towards gyms than Americans. Check out Paris to the Moon by Adam Gopnik, there is a whole chapter about it and I’m pretty sure nothing changed since the time his book was written. And you know what? I can’t blame them. We only live once for God sakes! Let’s just enjoy the good food and not waste our time and money at the gym but still stay in good shape!
